Dr. Fazeela Abbasi, sister of Pakistani actor Hamza Ali Abbasi, has encountered fresh legal trouble after a court revoked her interim bail in an alleged money laundering case.
According to reports, a sessions court in Islamabad cancelled the interim bail previously granted to Dr. Abbasi, paving the way for further progress in the ongoing investigation.
The case, which had surfaced earlier, has regained momentum following renewed legal proceedings.
As per the First Information Report (FIR), approximately Rs25 billion was allegedly deposited into 22 bank accounts linked to Dr. Abbasi. Investigators claim the funds were later transferred abroad, including to Dubai and the United States, while authorities maintain that the sources of the money remain unclear.
Earlier, the Islamabad High Court had closed one related case. However, after an appeal filed by the Federal Investigation Agency was accepted, another case connected to the matter was reinstated.
Sources said investigators have yet to receive a conclusive report establishing the origin of the funds, and inquiries into the alleged transactions are ongoing.
