The federal government has announced the launch of the Prime Minister’s Ramazan Package, providing a Rs. 10 billion subsidy on essential items to support 16 million people. This initiative includes 15 million beneficiaries of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) and an additional 1 million citizens, marking an increase of 1.2 million recipients compared to last year.
To ensure accessibility, 800 mobile Utility Stores and 300 flour sale points will be established nationwide, operational throughout Ramadan. A dedicated mobile app will assist users in locating these outlets, with verification conducted through BISP and NADRA.
A comprehensive monitoring system will be implemented, featuring live-streaming cameras at all utility stores and a central monitoring cell at the Utility Stores Corporation head office. The Ministry of Industries and Production will also establish its own monitoring cell, and ten toll-free complaint lines will be available to address public concerns.
