The Office of the District Magistrate has announced the temporary closure of several popular hiking trails in the federal capital. According to an official notification issued on April 11, 2026, Trails 2, 3, 4, 5, and the route leading from Trail 5 to Saidpur Village will remain closed for the general public starting April 12.
The decision, enforced under administrative authority, affects some of the most frequented recreational spots in Islamabad, known for attracting hikers, tourists, and nature enthusiasts daily.
Authorities have not publicly detailed the specific reasons behind the closure, but such actions are often linked to security concerns, environmental protection measures, or administrative requirements.
Residents and visitors are advised to comply with the directive and avoid accessing the restricted areas until further notice.
