As of Monday evening, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has received 20,170 applications for the government’s regular Hajj scheme. Nationwide, 15 banks are facilitating the application process, with Meezan Bank leading the way, having processed 4,143 applications. Muslim Commercial Bank follows closely with 4,063 submissions, and United Bank Limited has received 3,855 applications.
In a related development, the Religious Affairs Ministry has launched the ‘Pak Hajj’ mobile app to provide guidance to pilgrims, enhancing the overall Hajj experience.
The government has allocated a total of 89,605 seats for the regular Hajj scheme, which includes 5,000 seats reserved under the sponsorship quota. Of the applications received so far, 198 fall under this special quota.
Applicants are required to deposit Rs. 200,000 along with their submissions. The deadline for Hajj applications is set for December 3, although the government may consider extending it. On the first day of submissions, 1,995 applications were received, and on November 25, a total of 4,389 individuals submitted their applications for the pilgrimage.
