The federal government has digitally disbursed Rs. 1.2 billion in the first phase of payments under the PM Fuel Package 2026 to more than 32,000 transport-sector beneficiaries, including operators of buses, trucks, long-haul vehicles, and delivery vans, according to an official statement.

The payments were transferred through Easypaisa, which officials said enabled fast, secure, and transparent delivery of financial support to eligible recipients across the country as part of efforts to cushion the impact of rising fuel costs.

Authorities said Easypaisa is the first digital wallet being used to facilitate transfers to truck operators under the scheme, with the next phase expected to extend support to tank lorries, buses, and motorcycle owners.

Officials added that the initiative reflects the government’s shift toward digital disbursement mechanisms, allowing real-time transfers directly to beneficiaries while reducing reliance on traditional cash-based systems and improving transparency.

Jahanzeb Khan, President and Chief Executive Officer of Easypaisa Digital Bank, said the platform was supporting the government’s efforts to deliver timely financial relief through digital channels.

Separately, Federal Minister for IT and Telecom Shaza Fatima Khawaja said digital payments are becoming a key pillar of Pakistan’s evolving financial system, helping expand transparency, efficiency, and financial inclusion at scale.

With more than 59 million registered users and an extensive nationwide agent network, Easypaisa said it continues to support large-scale government-to-person payments under targeted relief initiatives.
