The federal government has officially announced public holidays for Eid ul Fitr 2025, confirming a break from Monday, March 31 2025, to Wednesday, April 2.

According to a notification from the Cabinet Division, the holiday period will allow citizens across the country to celebrate the festival following the conclusion of Ramadan.

Eidul Fitr is expected to be observed on March 31, as the Shawwal crescent is likely to be visible on the evening of Sunday, March 30. The Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council has stated that the moon will be over 26 hours old by sunset that day, making it easily visible under clear weather conditions.
