Google has rolled out expanded cloud storage and artificial intelligence subscription plans in Pakistan, introducing high-tier AI bundles alongside recently increased Google One pricing — a move that signals a broader shift toward paid AI services.
Updated pricing visible to Pakistani users shows revised storage rates and newly promoted AI packages combining cloud storage with advanced productivity tools powered by Gemini artificial intelligence.
Storage Prices Updated Across Tiers
Under the latest pricing structure, Google One plans in Pakistan now start at Rs189 per month for 30GB and rise to Rs419 per month for the 100GB plan, a tier that previously cost nearly half as much before recent adjustments.
Higher storage options include:
- 200GB at around Rs649 per month
- 2TB premium storage at roughly Rs2,099 per month
- Enterprise-level plans reaching up to 30TB for nearly Rs32,999 monthly
Annual billing options remain available at discounted rates.
The revision follows Google’s global pricing adjustments tied to rising infrastructure costs and expanded cloud services.
AI Subscriptions Introduced
Alongside storage plans, Google is actively promoting AI-focused subscriptions that bundle storage with Gemini AI tools, document assistance, coding support, and advanced research features.
Key AI tiers available in Pakistan include:
- Google AI Pro (2TB) priced around Rs5,600 per month (about $19.99 globally)
- Google AI Ultra (30TB) priced close to Rs70,000 per month after introductory discounts, aligning with its international $249.99 premium tier
The launch reflects Google’s strategy of integrating artificial intelligence directly into subscription ecosystems rather than offering standalone AI services.
Shift Toward AI-Driven Revenue
Industry analysts view the changes as part of a wider transition among global technology companies toward recurring AI subscription models.
Instead of competing solely on cheap cloud storage, tech firms are now monetizing advanced computing power, automation tools, and AI productivity features.
While entry-level storage remains relatively affordable, higher-tier AI packages place premium capabilities largely within reach of businesses, developers, and professional users rather than everyday consumers.
Rising Digital Costs for Users
The updated pricing has sparked discussion among Pakistani users online, many noting that top-tier AI subscriptions now rival or exceed average monthly salaries in the country.
Experts say the development marks a turning point in the digital economy, where access to cutting-edge AI tools increasingly depends on subscription spending rather than free internet services.
As Google accelerates its AI expansion worldwide, Pakistan’s updated pricing structure highlights how the global AI race is reshaping the cost of everyday digital services.
