The price of gold in Pakistan has continued its unprecedented rise, breaking records as it surged past the Rs. 270,000 per tola mark on Friday. According to the Karachi Sarafa Association, the price of 24-carat gold increased by Rs. 3,500, reaching Rs. 272,000 per tola. Meanwhile, the price for 10 grams of gold rose by Rs. 3,001, hitting Rs. 233,196.
This marks the third record-breaking increase in gold prices this week. Earlier, gold prices hit a high of Rs. 268,000 per tola on Monday, before a slight dip on Wednesday. However, the upward trend resumed on Thursday, with prices reaching Rs. 268,500 per tola, and today’s significant jump has set yet another all-time high.
The surge in domestic gold prices mirrors the international market, where gold prices have also reached record levels. Spot gold rose by 0.7 percent to $2,604.50 per ounce, while US gold futures increased by 0.6 percent to $2,630.00.
