Gold prices in Pakistan surged to a new all-time high on Thursday, following a rise in international prices. According to the Karachi Sarafa Association, the price of 24-carat gold increased by Rs. 800 per tola, reaching Rs. 268,500. Similarly, the price for 10 grams rose by Rs. 658, hitting Rs. 230,195.

This increase comes after gold prices had previously hit a record high of Rs. 268,000 per tola on Monday, before experiencing a slight decline on Wednesday. The latest surge marks the second time this week that gold prices have breached the record-high mark.

In the international market, gold prices remained steady after reaching a record high in the previous session. This stability follows the US Federal Reserve’s decision to implement a larger-than-expected interest rate cut. Spot gold was largely unchanged at $2,562.85 per ounce as of 0319 GMT, after reaching a record high of $2,599.92 on Wednesday. Meanwhile, US gold futures saw a slight decline of 0.4 percent, settling at $2,587.40.
