The price of gold in Pakistan maintained its upward trajectory on Friday, marking the fifth consecutive day of increases this week. According to the All-Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association, the price of 24-carat gold rose by Rs. 2,500 per tola, reaching Rs. 280,500. Meanwhile, the price for 10 grams increased by Rs. 2,143, bringing it to Rs. 240,483.
This week’s recovery follows a significant drop of over Rs. 10,000 per tola last week. The current rally began with a Rs. 2,500 per tola increase on Monday, followed by a Rs. 3,600 rise on Tuesday. Wednesday saw a more modest increase of Rs. 800 per tola, while Thursday’s gain was Rs. 3,700 per tola.
The cumulative increase for the week now stands at over Rs. 13,100 per tola, bringing gold prices close to the all-time high of Rs. 287,900 per tola recorded last week.
On the international stage, gold prices also saw a significant rise, with a 1 percent increase, marking the best week in a year. As of 0800 GMT, spot gold was up 1 percent to $2,696.76 per ounce, while US gold futures rose by 0.9 percent to $2,699.30.
