Gold prices in Pakistan experienced a notable decline on Monday, following a substantial increase of over Rs. 15,000 per tola the previous week. According to the All-Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association, the price of 24-carat gold fell by Rs. 4,300 per tola, bringing it down to Rs. 278,400. Similarly, the price for 10 grams of gold decreased by Rs. 3,657, settling at Rs. 238,683.

In contrast, the international gold market saw an increase, with prices rising by $43 to $2,672 from $2,715, as reported by the Association.

The gold market has been highly volatile over the past two weeks. Last week’s surge of Rs. 15,300 per tola followed a significant drop the week before, when prices plummeted to approximately Rs. 266,000 per tola from an all-time high of over Rs. 287,000 per tola. This recent fluctuation highlights the ongoing instability in gold prices both locally and globally.
