The price of gold in Pakistan fell for the fourth consecutive day on Wednesday, following a record high last week.
According to data from the Karachi Sarafa Association, the price of 24-carat gold decreased by Rs. 500 per tola, bringing it down to Rs. 255,500. The price of 10 grams also dropped by Rs. 429, settling at Rs. 219,050.
After reaching a record high of Rs. 257,300 per tola on Friday, August 1, the price of gold has seen a steady decline. The downward trend began on Saturday with a Rs. 500 per tola drop, followed by a Rs. 300 per tola decrease on Monday, and another Rs. 500 per tola reduction on Tuesday. Today’s decline brings the total loss over the past four days to Rs. 1,800 per tola.
In the international market, spot gold saw a slight increase of 0.2 percent, reaching $2,393.66 per ounce as of 0936 GMT. Meanwhile, US gold futures rose by 0.1 percent to $2,434.00.
