Gold prices in Pakistan fell on Monday, mirroring a decrease in international rates. In the local market, the price of gold per tola dropped by Rs. 900, settling at Rs. 283,400, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).
Similarly, the price of 10-gram gold decreased by Rs. 771, bringing it to Rs. 242,970. This decline follows a previous increase on Saturday when gold prices rose by Rs 2,000 to reach Rs. 284,300 per tola.
Internationally, gold prices also saw a decrease on Monday. The APGJSA reported that the rate was $2,739 per ounce, including a $20 premium, marking a $9 drop during the day.
In contrast, silver prices remained stable at Rs3,350 per tola.
Last week, gold prices in Pakistan reached a record high of Rs. 285,400 per tola, driven by increased demand for safe-haven assets amid ongoing conflicts in the Middle East and uncertainty surrounding the upcoming US election.
