Gold prices in Pakistan registered losses on Thursday, mirroring a decrease in international rates. In the local market, the price of gold per tola fell by Rs. 700, settling at Rs. 275,200, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA). Similarly, the price for 10 grams of gold decreased by Rs600, bringing it to Rs235,940.

This decline follows a previous session where gold prices per tola had increased by Rs1,600 in Pakistan. On the international front, gold prices also slipped on Thursday. The APGJSA reported that the international rate was $2,640 per ounce, including a $20 premium, after a $7 drop during the day.

Meanwhile, silver prices remained stable, with rates holding steady at Rs3,400 per tola.

Globally, the dip in gold prices was attributed to a strengthening US dollar, as investors evaluated a series of economic data indicating stalled progress in inflation. This data suggests that the Federal Reserve may proceed cautiously regarding further interest rate cuts.
