Gold prices in Pakistan surged sharply on Wednesday, mirroring a strong upward trend in international bullion markets and pushing local rates to fresh highs.
According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association, the price of gold per tola jumped by Rs. 15,700 to settle at Rs. 504,162. Meanwhile, the rate for 10 grams of gold climbed Rs. 13,460, reaching Rs. 432,237.
The sharp rebound follows Tuesday’s decline, when gold prices had dropped by Rs. 3,000 per tola to close at Rs. 488,462.
In the global market, bullion prices surged by $157, taking gold to $4,814 per ounce, along with an additional premium of $20, reflecting heightened investor demand amid international market volatility.
Silver prices also moved higher in the domestic market, gaining Rs. 440 to reach Rs. 8,184 per tola.
