Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan revealed today that he received a cordial and substantive phone call from French President Emmanuel Macron, who commended Pakistan for its efforts in facilitating the recent ceasefire between Iran and the United States.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), PM Sharif stated that President Macron congratulated Pakistan for helping bring both sides to the negotiating table and extended his best wishes for the upcoming peace talks in Islamabad.

“Pakistan remains committed to working closely with its international partners, including France, to ensure that this window of opportunity leads to a lasting and sustainable peace,” Sharif said.

The conversation also focused on the escalating situation in Lebanon, where both leaders stressed the urgent need to halt violence and protect innocent lives. Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s stance on supporting diplomatic solutions to restore peace and stability in the region.

The discussion underscores Pakistan’s growing position as a key mediator in Middle Eastern diplomacy, particularly in efforts to ease tensions between Iran and the United States while promoting broader regional stability.
