The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has taken disciplinary action against two officers in connection with the issuance of illegal refunds. According to an official notification, BS-19 officer Saeeda Islam has been made Officer on Special Duty (OSD), and BS-18 officer Shiraza Hameed has been suspended following a report from the Directorate General Intelligence and Investigation (Inland Revenue).

Saeeda Islam, previously serving as Commissioner-IR (OPS) (Refunds) at the Regional Tax Office in Lahore, has been reassigned to the Admin Pool at FBR Headquarters in Islamabad, effective immediately.

In a separate case, Shiraza Hameed, who was serving as Deputy Commissioner-IR at the Large Taxpayers Office in Lahore, has been suspended for 120 days or until further notice. This action was taken under Rule 5(1) of the Civil Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 2020, based on a report from the Directorate General of I & I (IR) regarding the issuance of an illegal refund.
