The Federal Board of Revenue and the National Database and Registration Authority have operationalised a secure electronic mechanism to enable confidential data sharing between the two institutions.

In an official directive issued on Wednesday, the FBR informed its field formations that a dedicated electronic module has been established to streamline official data requisitions from NADRA. The system, developed by NADRA, has been initially deployed at FBR headquarters and is designed to ensure secure, efficient, and timely processing of information requests.

According to the instructions, the platform incorporates strict data protection protocols to safeguard sensitive public records from cyber threats and unauthorized access. The initiative aims to enhance inter-agency coordination while maintaining the confidentiality of citizens’ data.

The FBR has further directed that all requests for information from NADRA must be supported by relevant documentary evidence. Each request must clearly state the official purpose and justification in line with NADRA’s prescribed data requisition procedures.

Officials said the new system will improve transparency and efficiency in information sharing while reinforcing data security standards across government institutions.
