Mansehra and its surrounding areas have experienced rain and a powerful storm, followed by snowfall in popular northern tourist destinations, signaling the early onset of winter in Pakistan.
Snowfall blanketed Lulosar Lake, Butta Kundi, and Babusar Top, transforming the region into a picturesque winter wonderland. Approximately a foot of snow accumulated around Lulosar Lake, with rooftops in the northern areas dusted in white, creating a scenic backdrop.
However, the snowfall has led to partial road closures, including the Babusar Top Road leading to Gilgit-Baltistan, complicating travel in the region.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has reported that a westerly wave is expected to impact the western and northern parts of the country starting tonight. This weather system is likely to bring rain and thunderstorms to upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and the Pothohar Region, with gusty winds anticipated in parts of upper Punjab.
In contrast, the past 24 hours have seen dry weather in most areas, with Sindh recording the highest temperatures. Lasbella, Mithi, and Hyderabad reached temperatures of up to 42°C, highlighting the stark weather differences across the country.
