Dubai Islamic Bank Pakistan Limited has appointed Muhammad Ali Gulfaraz as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective May 2, 2025.
Gulfaraz brings over 25 years of international and domestic banking experience to the position, with extensive expertise in corporate and investment banking, strategy, risk management, and digital transformation across markets in the UK, Europe, and Pakistan.
Prior to joining Dubai Islamic Bank Pakistan, Gulfaraz served as CEO and Managing Director of Bank of Khyber, where he spearheaded significant digital, governance, and operational reforms. His international career includes a decade at Mizuho Corporate Bank in London, where he worked as Managing Director and Head of Corporate & Investment Banking for the UK, Ireland, and Nordic countries. He also spent over ten years at Bank of America in London, ultimately holding the position of Principal in Global Corporate & Investment Banking.
Additionally, Gulfaraz has held executive roles at Fauji Foundation and has extensive experience in consumer finance, retail services, credit risk analysis, and portfolio management.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Master’s in Agricultural and Managerial Economics with a concentration in Finance from the University of California, Davis. Gulfaraz is an alumnus of Cadet College Hasan Abdal and has completed advanced professional training in London, Tokyo, and San Francisco.
