Dewan Farooque Motors Limited (PSX: DFML) has commenced the production of electric vehicles, the company informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Tuesday.

DFML said in a notification to the PSX said that the physical verification of manufacturing facilities of its associated company Eco-Green Motors Limited (EGML) has been granted by the Engineering Development Board (EDB). Production has started under the toll manufacturing agreement with EGML, DFML added.

Dewan Farooque Motors has announced the local production of the Honri Ve 2.0 and 3.0 electric vehicles (EVs) in Pakistan. Following the launch of its first electric vehicle in the country, Dewan Motors, in collaboration with Eco-Green Motors Limited, introduced the Honri Ve 3.0 variant in June 2024.

This marks the first manufacturing certificate issued by the Engineering Development Board (EDB) for the local assembly of EVs in Pakistan.

Honri Ve 2.0 Specifications and Features

The Honri Ve 2.0 is equipped with a Ternary Lithium Battery and a Permanent Synchronous motor, delivering a maximum power of 30 kW and 84 Nm of torque, with a top speed of 100 km/h. The vehicle offers a range of 200 kilometers per charge, with a charging time of seven hours.

The EV features front disc brakes and rear drum brakes, 155/65/R15 tires with alloy rims, a rear spoiler, halogen height-adjustable front headlamps, dual-tone side view mirrors with indicators, chrome and black front grille, and daytime running lights (DRLs).

Inside, the Honri Ve 2.0 boasts electric power steering, knob-type transmission, 4-way seat adjustment for both driver and passenger, a rear-view camera, front and rear electric windows, rear seat folding, a 5-inch color instrument cluster, and a 10.25-inch infotainment screen with an Android system and a 220V AC charging gun.

Honri Ve 3.0 Style, Power, and Performance

The Honri Ve 3.0 offers a range of up to 300 kilometers on a single charge, according to the official China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC). Charging the vehicle from empty to full takes only seven hours using a regular home outlet.

The car is powered by a permanent magnet synchronous motor, delivering 35 kW of power and 87 Nm of torque, providing a comfortable driving experience with a maximum speed of 100 km/h. It features a 29.9 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, known for its durability and long life.

Additional features of the Honri Ve 3.0 include a rear-view camera for easy parking and maneuvering, a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) for added safety, and a 220V AC charging gun for convenient home charging.

With these advancements, Dewan Farooque Motors is set to make a significant impact on the local EV market, offering innovative and sustainable transportation solutions in Pakistan.

The principal activity of the Company is assembling, progressive manufacturing, and sale of vehicles in Pakistan.

At the time of filing, DFML’s scrip at the bourse was Rs. 52.44, up 2.04 percent or Rs. 1.05 with over 4.5 million shares on Tuesday.
