The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has established a committee to review issues raised by tax bar associations regarding the recovery of Super Tax and the filing of sales tax returns under SRO 350(I)/2024.
A meeting was held at FBR Headquarters with representatives from the Pakistan, Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi–Islamabad Tax Bar Associations. During the discussions, the associations highlighted challenges faced by taxpayers, particularly related to Super Tax and sales tax return submissions.
The committee has been tasked with examining these concerns and proposing practical solutions for prompt resolution, reflecting the FBR’s commitment to facilitating taxpayers and addressing genuine issues efficiently. Members from the FBR’s operations, policy, and legal divisions also participated in the meeting to provide technical input.
The FBR recognized the constructive role of the Tax Bar Associations, noting that their expertise in Pakistan’s tax framework can help improve policy, enhance systems, and promote voluntary compliance.
The meeting was attended by senior representatives of the Tax Bar Associations, including leaders and office-bearers from Pakistan, Lahore, and Karachi associations, ensuring a comprehensive review of the challenges faced by taxpayers.
