The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has issued formal notices to all billboard and advertising board owners in Islamabad, directing the immediate removal of existing structures as part of a push toward electronic advertising.

Officials said the move follows a recent board meeting focused on modernizing the city’s advertising landscape while addressing urban aesthetics, public safety, and traffic visibility concerns. Under the plan, traditional billboards will be gradually replaced with digital electronic boards, standardizing advertising across the capital.

The CDA has warned that strict action will be taken against any non-compliant or unauthorized structures. Enforcement teams are expected to begin inspections soon, and violators may have their billboards dismantled without further notice.

Authorities also confirmed that updated guidelines for electronic advertising boards will be issued shortly, covering installation standards, approved locations, and operational rules to ensure a safer, cleaner, and digitally regulated cityscape.
