A high-level defence delegation from Bangladesh, led by Lieutenant General SM Qamarul Hassan, Principal Staff Officer of the Armed Forces Division, visited Pakistan on Wednesday and held discussions with Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Chief, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu.

The meeting, held at the Air Headquarters in Islamabad, focused on strengthening military ties and enhancing cooperation between the air forces of the two countries. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Bangladeshi delegation expressed a keen interest in Pakistan’s advanced military equipment, particularly the locally developed JF-17 Thunder fighter jets.

Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to deepening its military partnership with Bangladesh, emphasizing joint training programs and exploring new avenues for collaboration. He highlighted the PAF’s dedication to fostering regional stability through enhanced defence cooperation.

Lieutenant General Hassan praised the Pakistan Air Force for its modern initiatives, state-of-the-art technology, and locally developed technical frameworks. He specifically lauded the production of the JF-17 Thunder aircraft and expressed interest in other advanced military hardware developed by Pakistan.
