Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has unveiled a $2 billion investment package for Pakistan during a high-level trilateral summit with Turkey and Pakistan. The announcement came as leaders from the three countries met to discuss deepening economic and strategic cooperation.
President Aliyev revealed that the trio is currently evaluating investment projects worth $2 billion, with Pakistan poised to receive the lion’s share. Ongoing discussions are focused on finalizing projects in key sectors such as infrastructure, energy, and technology.
Highlighting the importance of regional security, Aliyev emphasized that joint defense initiatives between Pakistan, Turkey, and Azerbaijan are crucial for stability and mutual protection.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, also present at the summit, reiterated his country’s commitment to strengthening strategic ties with both Azerbaijan and Pakistan. Erdogan voiced support for Azerbaijan’s post-war reconstruction efforts and condemned the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The summit, attended by President Erdogan and senior Pakistani officials, is expected to yield several memoranda of understanding and joint declarations in the coming weeks.
While Pakistan has yet to officially confirm the investment details, sources indicate that negotiations are actively underway.
