The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has confiscated more than 520 kilograms of illegal drugs valued at approximately Rs27.9 million and arrested six individuals during a series of seven coordinated operations across the country, officials said on Tuesday.
Several of the raids focused on curbing drug distribution near educational institutions. Authorities recovered 3.6 kg of hashish from a suspect near Rehmaniya Phatak in Gujrat, while 300 grams of hashish were seized from another individual close to a university on Hattar Road in Haripur. During initial questioning, the suspects reportedly admitted to supplying narcotics to students.
In a major interception at Karachi Port, officials seized 347,500 Tramadol tablets weighing 240 kg and 49,800 Nexus tablets weighing 18.15 kg from a container destined for Saudi Arabia.
In another operation in Islamabad, 7.01 kg of methamphetamine (ice) concealed in cushion covers was recovered from a parcel intended for shipment to New Zealand.
Additional recoveries included 107.4 kg of hashish from a vehicle near Jabal Noor Bus Terminal in Quetta, leading to one arrest; 60 kg of hashish seized near Lak Pass in Mastung, where two suspects were detained; and 84 kg of hashish recovered near Ravi Toll Plaza in Lahore, resulting in another arrest.
Authorities have registered cases under the Narcotics Control Act 1997 and launched further investigations.
