The management of the newly incorporated airline, Air Karachi, has applied for a Regular Public Transport (RPT) Operator license from the aviation regulator to commence commercial operations, including both cargo and passenger flights on domestic and international routes.

In a formal application submitted to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), the airline provided a comprehensive business plan along with all necessary documentation as required by regulatory standards.

The letter from Air Karachi stated, “We aim to operate as a Regular Public Transport (RPT) Operator, providing scheduled passenger and cargo services on domestic and international routes. We aim to achieve this under the license to be granted by CAA Pakistan.”

The management team at Air Karachi highlighted their extensive experience in the aviation sector in Pakistan, asserting that they are well-equipped to mobilize the necessary resources and personnel to launch this venture. They also commended the implementation of the National Aviation Policy 2023, which promotes a liberal operating framework, creates a level playing field, and facilitates the entry of new stakeholders into the aviation business.

Air Karachi (Private) Limited, founded by a reputable business group based in Karachi, was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) in November 2024. The airline aims to capitalize on the promising opportunities in the aviation industry, particularly following the government’s efforts to privatize Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) last year.
