Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir has emphasized the importance of self-responsibility, urging individuals to focus on their duties and performance rather than engaging in “baseless criticism.”
Speaking to university students in Bahawalpur on Saturday, the army chief highlighted the Pakistan Army’s commitment to nurturing the nation’s youth. He encouraged students to pursue academic excellence with dedication and equip themselves with the skills needed to contribute to national development.
General Munir praised the youth’s pivotal role in shaping Pakistan’s future and reaffirmed the army’s support for initiatives that empower young talent. He stated that as long as great mothers continue to sacrifice their children for the country and the youth stand united with the armed forces, no harm can come to Pakistan.
The COAS also addressed the issue of terrorism, stating that it is backed by an organized illegal spectrum with certain elements providing support. He noted that false narratives are often spread to undermine state actions against these elements.
Describing Pakistan as a precious gift from Allah Almighty, General Munir urged the audience to remain steadfast in their beliefs, honor their ancestors, and uphold the core values of society.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the COAS also visited Bahawalpur Cantonment, where he was briefed on operational preparedness. Addressing officers and troops, he commended their dedication, high morale, and combat readiness. He reiterated that rigorous training remains the cornerstone of a soldier’s professional development and is essential for overcoming the challenges of modern warfare.
During his visit, General Munir inaugurated several pioneering initiatives, including the CMH Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS), Innovista Cholistan, and the Integrated Combat Simulator Arena. These projects aim to advance medical education, information technology, and combat readiness.
