Around 30 Pakistani technology leaders, startup founders, and innovators have participated in Oslo Innovation Week 2026 in Norway, seeking new business opportunities and partnerships in the Nordic market.

The delegation, organised by the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA), held meetings with Norwegian investors, startups, business executives, and policymakers to explore joint ventures, technology partnerships, and cross-border collaboration.

Led by Kheezran Khan, Director of Marketing and Outreach at P@SHA, the group also discussed potential partnerships that could help Pakistani IT companies access European markets. Delegates are now following up on business leads generated during the visit.

Pakistani IT Leaders Meet Norwegian Businesses at Parliament

The four-day Oslo Innovation Week featured more than 100 specialised sessions covering emerging industries, including artificial intelligence, deep tech, clean technology, health technology, and the blue economy.

One of the key engagements was a bilateral business networking session at the Storting, Norway’s Parliament, where Pakistani technology leaders met Norwegian business executives and policymakers.

The discussions focused on expanding digital trade between the two countries and identifying opportunities for long-term commercial partnerships.

Pakistani delegates presented the country’s capabilities in artificial intelligence, software engineering, enterprise automation, and sustainable technology.

They also explored venture partnerships, joint research and development, and business models through which European companies could expand their operations using Pakistani engineering teams.

P@SHA Targets $15 Billion IT Exports by 2031

P@SHA Chairman Dr. Shoab Ahmed Khan said the Norway visit was part of the association’s Strategy 2031, which aims to increase Pakistan’s IT export contribution to $15 billion by fiscal year 2030-31.

He said achieving the target would require Pakistani technology companies to enter new markets through region-specific strategies.

According to Khan, Nordic countries offer significant opportunities because of their leadership in digital transformation, sustainability, and deep technology, alongside their emphasis on quality, trust, and long-term business relationships.

“By connecting our software houses directly with Norwegian enterprises and investors, we are moving beyond hourly outsourcing toward high-value partnerships in AI, fintech and green technology,” he said.

Khan added that the response from Norwegian businesses reflected the capabilities of Pakistan’s engineering workforce.

P@SHA said the initiative supports two major objectives under its strategy: export expansion and ecosystem and talent development.

It also contributes to the broader goal of diversifying Pakistan’s IT exports beyond traditional markets, strengthening the country’s technology brand internationally, and developing partnerships tailored to individual regions.

Pakistan and Norway have also expanded cooperation in other areas this year. In April 2026, the two countries signed Pakistan’s first carbon trading agreement, opening another avenue for bilateral economic cooperation.
