The federal government has increased petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) prices for October 26, with petrol becoming Rs. 1.54 per litre more expensive and diesel rising by Rs. 2.16 per litre, according to the latest fuel price update from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).
Petrol now costs Rs. 379.25 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel has reached Rs. 395.82 per litre.
The latest increase follows Friday’s revision, when petrol remained unchanged at Rs. 377.71 per litre while diesel rose by Rs. 1.91 to Rs. 393.66 per litre.
Fuel Prices Rise by More Than Rs. 68 Since Daily Updates Began
Since the start of daily fuel price revisions, petrol has become Rs. 68.54 per litre more expensive, while diesel has increased by Rs. 72.52 per litre.
The historical price data shows that both fuels climbed sharply through August and September, with prices reaching their highest levels in the table in early October. Petrol peaked at Rs. 398.96 per litre on October 8, while diesel reached Rs. 424.92 per litre on September 17.
Prices subsequently eased before the latest increase. Petrol fell to Rs. 377.71 per litre on October 22 and remained at that level on October 23. Diesel, meanwhile, rose from Rs. 391.75 on October 22 to Rs. 393.66 on October 23 before reaching Rs. 395.82 on October 26.
The figures show that diesel remains more expensive than petrol, despite the decline from its September peak. The latest revision pushes both fuel prices higher again, adding to transport and operating costs for consumers and businesses.
