Pakistan’s net foreign direct investment (FDI) increased 18% year-on-year to $219 million in September 2026, taking net inflows during the first quarter of FY27 to $720 million, up 20% from a year earlier.

Data from the State Bank of Pakistan, compiled by Topline Securities, shows that September’s net FDI fell 32% month-on-month from $322 million in August.

The mining and financial business sectors attracted the highest FDI inflows during September, while Canada and the United Kingdom were the largest net contributors among investing countries.

Despite the monthly decline, cumulative net FDI reached $720 million in July-September FY27, reflecting continued growth compared with the same period last year.
