Federal IT Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja has backed the change in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, saying it will improve governance, restore stability and help the provincial government focus on public welfare.

Speaking to journalists, Shaza said the changes would benefit people across KP. She added that the government would work to improve digital services and ensure technology reaches households throughout the province.

She said holding discussions in KP had previously been difficult because protests were taking place continuously.

On satellite internet services, Shaza said the government was ready to issue internet licences once the Pakistan Space Activities Regulatory Board (PSARB) finalizes the relevant rules.

She clarified that PSARB is an independent regulator and does not fall under the Ministry of IT. The licensing process cannot move forward until the board completes the rules.
