The Pakistani rupee extended its winning streak against the US dollar to 258 consecutive days on Friday, October 9, as it edged up another paisa to close at Rs. 277.00.
The local currency has recorded consistent gains against the dollar since December 25, 2025, bringing it closer to the Rs. 276 level.
Other Currencies
The rupee weakened against most major currencies on Friday. It lost Rs. 1.29 against the British pound, Rs. 1.05 against the euro, 61 paisas against the Australian dollar, and 41 paisas against the Canadian dollar.
The rupee also depreciated against the Chinese yuan and Malaysian ringgit, losing around 5.7 paisas and 3.9 paisas, respectively.
Meanwhile, it gained nearly one paisa against the UAE dirham and remained almost unchanged against the Saudi riyal.
