The Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) has started discussions with Hunza’s business community to address issues affecting commercial activity and improve the investment climate in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Secretary SIFC met representatives of the Hunza Chamber of Commerce & Industry, hotel industry, traders and food associations to discuss the problems faced by local businesses.

The representatives pointed out several regulatory and operational difficulties and stressed the need for simpler procedures, stronger coordination between government departments and a more effective mechanism for resolving business-related complaints.

The Secretary SIFC said a stable and predictable business environment is important for encouraging private investment, expanding business activity and supporting economic growth in Gilgit-Baltistan.

The meeting also emphasized the need to remove regulatory obstacles and reduce unnecessary compliance requirements for businesses operating in Hunza.

SIFC said it would continue working with the local business community and relevant government institutions to address legitimate concerns and facilitate investment in the region.

The Council said coordinated efforts would help improve the ease of doing business and unlock the wider economic potential of Gilgit-Baltistan.
