The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has reached out to the heads of more than 165 universities to raise awareness about online risks and safer internet use.
According to a PTA document, the authority has organized awareness seminars and other activities with universities and institutions linked to the Higher Education Commission.
The sessions focused on safe and lawful internet use, online threats, harmful content and the steps users can take when they face problems online.
PTA has also shared awareness videos and educational material through YouTube and social media. It has published guides for parents and caregivers with support from organizations including UNICEF and TikTok.
The material explains how parents can help children use the internet more safely and responsibly.
The authority has also used mobile operators and television programs to spread awareness about online safety among parents, young people and the wider public.
PTA said its awareness efforts are aimed at helping people understand online risks and use digital platforms safely and responsibly.
