Pakistan’s cement dispatches increased 5.95 percent year-on-year to 4.621 million tons in September 2026, mainly due to stronger local demand, according to data from the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA).

Domestic cement dispatches rose 7.35 percent to 3.788 million tons during the month, compared with 3.529 million tons in September 2025.

Exports stood at 832,173 tons, showing little change from a year earlier.

Cement mills in the northern region recorded total dispatches of 3.164 million tons in September, down 2.43 percent from 3.242 million tons a year earlier.

Their domestic dispatches, however, increased 4.72 percent. The northern mills did not record any exports during the month, compared with 221,252 tons in September 2025.

Southern mills posted stronger growth, with total dispatches rising 30.23 percent to around 1.46 million tons.

Their domestic dispatches increased 22.98 percent to 624,833 tons, while exports jumped 36.26 percent to 832,173 tons from 610,714 tons a year earlier.

During the first quarter of fiscal year 2027, total cement dispatches rose 3.88 percent to 13.141 million tons from 12.651 million tons in the same period last year.

Domestic dispatches increased 7.79 percent to 10.845 million tons, while exports fell 11.32 percent to 2.296 million tons.

Northern mills recorded domestic dispatches of 8.946 million tons during the quarter, up 6.80 percent. Their exports fell to zero from 661,866 tons a year earlier, resulting in a 1.02 percent decline in total dispatches to 8.946 million tons.

Southern mills recorded domestic dispatches of 1.899 million tons, up 12.71 percent, while exports increased 19.15 percent to 2.296 million tons. Their total dispatches rose 16.15 percent to 4.195 million tons.

An APCMA spokesman expressed concern over the decline in exports and continued volatility in energy prices. He said easing geopolitical tensions would be important for the recovery of the cement and allied industries.
