The district administration has prohibited the establishment and operation of cattle pens for cows and buffaloes in residential areas of Islamabad, citing public health, sanitation and environmental concerns.

Authorities have also begun taking action against those violating the restriction.

During an enforcement operation on Lehtrar Road, the Assistant Commissioner Nilore sealed eight cattle pens and sent six individuals to lockup.

The administration said the ban applies to cattle pens operating within residential areas, where livestock can create health, cleanliness and pollution-related issues.

Relevant authorities have been instructed to continue enforcement and take action against cattle pens operating in violation of the restrictions.
