Internet connectivity has been completely restored in Islamabad and Rawalpindi after a technical fault in an optical fiber network was resolved, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) said.

The disruption had affected internet services in parts of the twin cities, including mobile data and Wi-Fi connections.

According to the PTA, the optical fiber fault occurred within the network of a telecom operator and was responsible for the partial disruption reported in the affected areas.

The authority has now confirmed that the fault has been fixed and internet services have returned to normal across the twin cities.

The restoration comes as a planned protest in Islamabad, which had been scheduled for today, has been postponed until next week.

The PTA had earlier said that technical teams were working to repair the optical fiber fault and warned that complete restoration could take several hours.

With the repair work completed, the authority has confirmed that internet services are now fully operational.
