Hunan Resources SMC (Private) Limited has restarted operations at its industrial facility in Dhabeji, Sindh, after a seven-month shutdown following intervention by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).

In a letter to the SIFC dated September 15, the company said the factory had been closed since February 2026. The prolonged shutdown resulted in significant financial losses and disrupted its investment, operations and business commitments.

The company did not specify the issue that forced the facility to remain closed. It said the matter had continued for an extended period despite its efforts to resolve it.

Hunan Resources appreciated the SIFC for intervening and coordinating efforts to address the issue involving its industrial facility.

The company said the council’s support helped safeguard its investment and increased its confidence in continuing business and investment activities in Pakistan.

The SIFC said the factory’s reopening reflected the role of coordinated investment facilitation in resolving investor concerns and enabling industrial activity to resume.

The council added that it is continuing to engage with investors through a whole-of-government approach, focusing on legitimate business issues, investor confidence and improving conditions for investment and industrial growth.
