The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has confirmed that its IRIS tax portal is operating normally after taxpayers reported technical problems earlier this week.

The tax authority said more than 50,000 forms were submitted through the portal on both Wednesday and Thursday.

FBR thanked taxpayers for their cooperation and asked anyone still facing problems to report them through its official channel.

The update follows FBR’s September 16 acknowledgment that taxpayers were experiencing intermittent issues with IRIS.

At the time, FBR said technical teams were working to fix the problems and would issue an update once the system was fully restored.

The portal is being heavily used as the tax return filing deadline approaches.
