Pakistan’s net foreign direct investment (FDI) jumped 80 percent year-on-year (YoY) to $316 million in August 2026, according to State Bank of Pakistan data compiled by Topline Securities.

The August inflow was also 77 percent higher than the $179 million recorded in July.

With the latest increase, net FDI during the first two months of FY27 reached $495 million, up 24 percent compared with the same period last year.

The power and financial business sectors attracted the largest foreign investment inflows during August.

China, Canada and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) were the biggest net sources of FDI during the month.
