Major General (Retired) Sohail Sabir has been appointed Vice Chancellor of the University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore, for a four-year term.

The Punjab Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department issued the appointment notification on September 16, 2026.

The notification said Punjab Governor and UHS Chancellor appointed Sabir as Vice Chancellor with immediate effect after he submitted the required undertaking and affidavit accepting the appointment’s terms and conditions.

The appointment has been made under the University of Health Sciences, Lahore Ordinance, 2002.

Sabir’s appointment will remain subject to his compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and administrative requirements, as well as the conditions outlined in his undertaking and affidavit.
