Petrol pump owners have expressed a lack of awareness about the government’s Rs. 100 per liter fuel relief package and raised questions about how the subsidy will be paid to them.

All Pakistan Petrol Pump Owners Association Chairman Humayun Khan said pump owners had not been informed about the Rs. 100 per liter subsidy. He warned that the lack of clarity could lead to disputes between customers and petrol pump owners over the subsidy.

Association General Secretary Nauman Butt said the government had announced the subsidy but had not explained how petrol pump owners would receive the money.

The government has launched a Rs. 100 per liter fuel subsidy for motorcycles, rickshaws, other two and three wheelers, and cars with engines of up to 800cc.

Two and three wheelers are eligible for up to 20 liters per month, while cars can receive the subsidy on up to 30 liters. The scheme is for non-commercial users and is being rolled out nationwide after its initial launch in Islamabad.
