The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (PSX: OGDC) has made a new oil and gas discovery at the Bobi Oil Field in Sindh, with the Bobi-11 well capable of producing around 1,000 barrels of oil per day.

The well is also expected to produce 1.0 million standard cubic feet of natural gas per day (MMSCFD), according to OGDC.

The company said it owns 100% of the Bobi Oil Field, making the discovery an important addition to its exploration portfolio.

OGDC noted that geological data from the previously drilled Bobi Deep-1 well supported the drilling and evaluation of Bobi-11.

The company said the latest results have strengthened the potential for further oil and gas discoveries in the area and could lead to additional exploration and development.

The development follows OGDC’s earlier identification of substantial shale gas potential in Sindh. Initial estimates put the province’s shale gas resources at around 7.5 trillion cubic feet.
