Pakistan-based startup Metal, founded by Airlift co-founder Usman Gul, has raised $4.5 million in a seed funding round led by a16z Speedrun and Y Combinator.
Gul, who serves as Metal’s founder and CEO, announced the funding, which also included Pioneer Fund, Rebel Fund, Gaingels, Indus Valley Capital, Team Ignite Ventures and Phaze Ventures.
Metal is developing an AI platform for startup founders that automates and manages fundraising and venture capital workflows.
The company describes its product as an AI operating system for fundraising, with plans to expand it into broader infrastructure for private capital formation.
Gul said Metal expects to end fiscal year 2026 with multi-million-dollar annual revenue. He added that the startup has achieved quarterly growth of 30% to 80% for six consecutive quarters.
The latest round comes after Rebel Fund made a strategic investment in Metal in June. Rebel Fund invests primarily in startups from the Y Combinator ecosystem.
