The Pakistani rupee (PKR) extended its positive run against the US dollar on Thursday, marking its 227th consecutive session of gains.
The rupee closed at 277.51 against the US dollar, strengthening by 0.0082 rupees, or around one paisa, during the session.
The PKR has remained on an upward trend against the dollar since December 25, 2025.
Rupee Performance Against Other Currencies
The rupee strengthened by one paisa against the UAE dirham and remained virtually unchanged against the Saudi riyal.
The biggest gain came against the British pound, with the rupee gaining Rs. 1.37. It also strengthened by 23 paisas against the euro.
The rupee weakened against the Australian dollar, losing Rs. 1.19, while it gained 34 paisas against the Canadian dollar.
