The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast widespread rain, thunderstorms and strong winds across several parts of Pakistan, with isolated heavy rainfall expected during the next 24 to 48 hours.
The weather system is expected to affect the upper catchments of the Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi and Sutlej rivers, along with Islamabad and Kashmir.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain and thunderstorms are expected in Abbottabad, Bajaur, Batagram, Buner, Haripur, Dir, Malakand, Mansehra, Mardan, Shangla, Swabi, Swat and Tor Ghar.
Punjab is also likely to receive rain in Gujranwala, Gujrat, Jhelum, Lahore, Narowal, Rawalpindi, Sheikhupura and Sialkot.

Scattered rain, thunderstorms and strong winds are expected over the upper catchments of the Indus River.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the affected areas may include Charsadda, Chitral, Khyber, Kohat, Kohistan, Mohmand, Nowshera and Peshawar.
In Punjab, scattered rainfall is forecast for Attock, Chakwal, Faisalabad, Hafizabad, Kasur, Khushab, Mandi Bahauddin, Nankana Sahib and Sargodha.
Several areas of Gilgit-Baltistan, including Astore, Darel, Diamir, Ghizer, Gilgit, Gupis and Tangir, may also experience rain and thunderstorms.
48-Hour Weather Outlook
The same weather pattern is expected to continue over the next 48 hours, with widespread rain, strong winds and thunderstorms and isolated heavy showers remaining likely over the upper river catchments, Islamabad and Kashmir.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the forecast covers Abbottabad, Bajaur, Batagram, Buner, Charsadda, Haripur, Dir, Malakand, Mansehra, Mardan, Mohmand, Nowshera, Shangla, Swabi, Swat and Tor Ghar.
Rain is also expected in parts of Punjab, including Attock, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Lahore, Narowal, Rawalpindi, Sheikhupura and Sialkot.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms may occur in additional areas, including Khyber, Kohat, Kohistan, Orakzai and Peshawar in KP, as well as Chakwal, Chiniot, Faisalabad, Hafizabad, Jhelum, Kasur, Mandi Bahauddin, Nankana Sahib and Sargodha in Punjab.
Gilgit-Baltistan may see rainfall in Astore, Darel, Diamir, Gilgit and Tangir.
Residents in areas under the forecast should remain alert to potentially heavy showers, strong winds and thunderstorms, particularly in vulnerable and low-lying locations.
