Ghandhara Industries Limited is set to introduce Japanese truck brand UD Trucks in Pakistan after entering into a strategic agreement with UD Trucks Corporation for the import and distribution of its vehicles in the country.

The company informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange on August 17 that it had signed a collaboration agreement with UD Trucks covering the import and distribution of its trucks in Pakistan.

Under the partnership, Ghandhara will market and distribute completely built units (CBUs) of UD Trucks. Commercial sales are expected to commence in the first quarter of 2027.

According to a market brief by JS Global, UD Trucks sold around 21,300 vehicles globally in FY24 and has a presence across 59 countries, with a focus on heavy-duty and medium-duty trucks.

Ghandhara already operates in Pakistan’s CBU truck segment through Ghandhara Automobiles Limited (GAL), which sold 56 CBU units of Dongfeng and Renault trucks during FY25.

The new partnership will broaden Ghandhara’s commercial vehicle portfolio and strengthen its presence in the international truck market. UD Trucks is a global manufacturer of commercial vehicles and operates under the Volvo Group.

Ghandhara said the agreement is an important step in expanding its product range and is expected to support the company’s future growth.

The entry of UD Trucks is also expected to add another international brand to Pakistan’s commercial vehicle market, where truck demand is closely tied to transportation, logistics, construction and overall economic activity.
