Gold prices in Pakistan extended their upward trend on Saturday, tracking gains in the international bullion market, with the price of one tola rising above Rs456,000.
Since 5 August, it has gained Rs. 28,600 per tola.
According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of one tola of gold increased by Rs2,200 to settle at Rs456,536.
The price of 10 grams of gold also moved higher, gaining Rs1,887 to reach Rs391,406.
The latest increase comes a day after gold surged by Rs5,100 per tola, when it closed at Rs454,336 in the local market.
In the international market, gold climbed by $22 to $4,341 per ounce, including a premium of $20, providing support to domestic prices.
Meanwhile, silver moved in the opposite direction, with its price falling by Rs113 to Rs6,826 per tola.
