The Pakistani rupee (PKR) continued its upward trend against the US dollar on Monday, closing in positive territory for the 211th consecutive trading day.
The rupee settled at 277.77 per US dollar, strengthening by three paisas during the session. The currency has maintained its appreciation streak against the dollar since December 25, 2025.
Rupee Performance Against Other Currencies
The PKR remained largely stable against the UAE Dirham (AED), while gaining one paisa against the Saudi Riyal (SAR).
However, the local currency weakened against major European currencies, losing 31 paisas against the Euro (EUR) and 23 paisas against the British Pound (GBP).
The rupee recorded gains against the Australian Dollar (AUD), improving by 77 paisas, while it strengthened by 29 paisas against the Canadian Dollar (CAD).
It also gained 16 paisas against the Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) and four paisas against the Chinese Yuan (CNY).
